Ideas for creating a recognition board

I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about how to create a team environment at work and use a display case/board to recognize our team. What kind of things have you seen displayed, or done to make everyone feel a part of the unit and more a team spirit. I suggested a display case to my manager and she agreed this would be a good idea. I also said it would be nice to create a sort of welcoming committee. Has anyone exp this ? Does anyone have any ideas?

Specializes in Home health was tops, 2nd was L&D.

I have seen Thanks for you.....kinda of a card where other nurses could write a Thanks, simple and sweet or actually say for what.. like covering a shift, healping with meds, all the things a team does to help each other. I also have used and highly recommend a monthly pot luck type thing.. I do not actually know any nurses who do not like to eat even if just really healthy foods. I used to pick a day each month for ours and also celebrate all the birthdays for that month at the same time..I did convince upper mgmt to spring for a cake each month.. but I would get each birthday person a card and others would sign them (Dollar store usually 2/$1 or Walmart has 49 cent cards now) I used to ask for theme ideas like at a team meeting or in a memo to my mailbox, couple times a yr and would just pick a theme and post a sign up list.. I used to start off with suggestions for the theme and let it go from there.

One place I worked took all the " thanks for.." names that cards were given too and put the names in a hat to choose a monthly winner at staff meeting. WE used to get gift certificate to locally owned grocery usually $15...

I posted ideas for your welcome basket on the other post. Good luck with your ideas .. they are great.
