What is a Nurse Attending? Is that a student? If you already have an Associate Degree in Nursing, are you working on a BSN? If you plan to go to graduate school, your written communication skills need a little work, and this would be a great place to practice them.I was a Nurse Attending for 2 years at Southside Hospital and they talked to me like they are not going to hire me bc I have an Associate degree in nursing and I really want ICU bc I plan to go do my master in Anesthesia to become an CRNA
It depends on the location and prior experience. I was hired for my current position with my ADN; my area does tend to prefer BSNs, but I had ICU experience already. RubyVee has a point, though; a manager isn't going to want to put resources into training a new ICU RN who will need to be replaced in a year or two.
