ICU as a new grad

Published

I am about to graduate nursing school in May and am interested in getting into an ICU. I am a 22 year old male, have a 3.8 GPA, phi theta kappa, and crimson scholar at New Mexico State University. I would be willing to relocate anywhere in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, or Texas.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Preferably in a large teaching/trauma hospital...

Thank you all for your support. To Meriwhen, my internship was vital to my success in the ICU. There was always watching over us to make sure we didn't make any life threatening mistakes. They would let us make the small mistakes you learn from but not the OMG I just lost my license mistakes. I have to say to any new grad in critical care, internships are the best way to go. I could only imagine what it would have been like to be thrown into the fire by myself after only a couple weeks of unit orientation.
