I have an interview in a few weeks for a Staff Nurse ICU position and from experience I know that there will be questions asked in the interview to assess problem solving and decision making skills, for example "tell me about AF", (which I could answer), "what could cause the ventilator to alarm high pressure?", (which I couldn't really answer), and "what would you do if you saw an ETT balloon at the back of your patient's mouth?", (which I could only answer using common sense).
As you've probably guessed I have no previous ICU nursing experience and was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere to find scenarios or troubleshooting information. Unfortunately I don't have sufficient funds to invest in too many ICU books before I actually get an ICU position.

Hello,
I have an interview in a few weeks for a Staff Nurse ICU position and from experience I know that there will be questions asked in the interview to assess problem solving and decision making skills, for example "tell me about AF", (which I could answer), "what could cause the ventilator to alarm high pressure?", (which I couldn't really answer), and "what would you do if you saw an ETT balloon at the back of your patient's mouth?", (which I could only answer using common sense).
As you've probably guessed I have no previous ICU nursing experience and was wondering if anyone knows of anywhere to find scenarios or troubleshooting information. Unfortunately I don't have sufficient funds to invest in too many ICU books before I actually get an ICU position.
Any help would be really appreciated.
