I just want to know who can lead to me certain books that I can order HESI assistance or anything like that especially for pharmacology. I plan on applying to the program and I want to at least attempt to prepare.

In Amazon look for HESI Comprehensive and the Saunders NCLEX. The current version.  The school uses those teach test taking strategies.  Both books are by Evolve on Elsevier.

Or yourbestgrade.com/HESI

So many HESI material. Any from Elsevier is best since that is what the school uses.

Basically there are no specific books but you can get those 2. Many of us in my cohort bought them since it is also good while in school.

Okay thankyou so much!! So is HESI basically like a general overview almost like NCLEX of the basics of nursing? Or were you guys HESI experience a little more in depth. In LVN school the classes I took made us do HESI but it wasnt very stressed so I am familiar but not to this level

Specializes in New Nurse.

I see one HESI book that is for like basics (Math, reading comp, vocab, grammar, biom, chem, A&P, etc.) Then I see A HESI Comp Review, and a Saunders Comp review, which those 2 are more detailed for the different system in the body etc. I should just try all 3?

Don't know yet. This will be our first HESI exam. Since they use NCLEX style to teach even teaching according to the NGN NCLEX and giving us NGN NCLEX style questions, I will assume it will follow along with the NGN NCLEX which is the new testing format that is taking place starting April. When we graduate next January our NCLEX will be the new format.

Sound like that first one is for those taking the HESI A2 entrance exam.

We got the HESI NCLEX Comp and Saunders.

Did you read the whole  HESI Comprehensive book or just HESI hints? I took my exit and failed by doing yourbestgrade, so now I planing to use the HESI Comprehensive book and Saunders.

Did you just do the 2 exams or did you create the exam to get all the questions?

My classmates here at clinicals have said it worked for them. I used the 2 exams and did not know about the other until someone told me.

I passed Fundamentals and failed Pharm. I was told by classmates here in clinicals to study the HESI book and focus on the HESI Hints. The Saunders book questions are harder than HESI from what I heard so it will help in preparing for the exams. I bought the books new so I can put my codes in Evolve and do the exams in Study and Exam mode. The other thing they used was quizlet questions with rationales.

I wasn't using them like that during class because of all the classwork but I am definitely doing with Pharm and the rest of the program.

The school is reviewing all the exams and HESI now that so many students failed in all classes. They are not preparing us for HESI and students are speaking up about it, not to mentioned the Final being 45%  of your grade is so high compared to all the other schools. They are now reviewing and looking into what is the issue with such a failure percentage.

Some of my classmates have dropped already and was accepted into other programs after 1st semester.

I would love to switch but I can't. With my VA benefits paying for it. It was enough to pay for this program. I gotta stick with it.

I just ordered the 7th Edition of the HESI book as well because it is updated for the new NCLEX and will have the most current info. It just came out.

Which exam 2 are you talking about? I failed my HESI exit, am done with all my classes so I was asking the lady who said she passed her exit for the second time if she studied all HESI Hints, I have Saunders and have been using it since I started the program. Quilt is not helpful as students have reported that similar questions are seen in the exams so they have changed everything. Ours final grade were 35% when I started, 45% is way too much and not fair at all.
