I just saw this in my new ANN journal. Does anyone use this now instead of Indomethacin?

I haven't seen it used yet, but it makes sense. It is a prostaglandin inhibitor, just like Indocin. I once cared for a baby whose ductus arteriosus closed prematurely in the womb due to maternal Ibuprofin use. I'm guessing it would have fewer side-effects than Indocin, which would be a very good thing!

We're involved in an Ibuprofen research study for this.

Jolie, what problems did the baby have and how did they treat?

What kind of results are you seeing?
dawngloves,
The little guy had severe pulmonary hypertension that was resistant to every form of treatment available at that time (about 15 years ago.) Our docs were preparing to place him on ECMO even though he did not meet our criteria, in an effort to buy more time to seek out advice from other centers. Unfortunately, he died before it could be done.
I honestly don't know because haven't seen it used a lot because of the criteria. So some of the closed PDAs after Ibuprofen might've closed on their own without any tx.
