ps: in pharm and skills and clinical iam doing fine :paw:

I agree with everyone else! Practice NCLEX style questions as much as you can. When I take a test, I also try to think like a nurse. Remember the ABC priority. That alone has helped me answer a number of questions. I also take all the practice questions at the end of each chapter and on the companion CD-Rom. Fundamentals of Success (book) has also helped somewhat. What I have learned is that everything in nursing is priority-based. I can usually narrow it down to two right answers and the one that is the greater priority is the correct one.

I can also sympathize with the pass rate - at my school you have to achieve a 78% or greater to pass.

Good luck to you!!

I use NCLEX practice questions and read the rationales even if I get the answer correct. It seems to be working for me.

Maybe your learning center will help. I understand about the embarrassment, as I had to do it with math a while back, but it really did help me a lot.

i definantly agree with this. the practive questions really help alot understand alot of the nursing stuff that the lecture does not cover.

and also, try pathophysiology: reviews and rationales book. it helped alot as well to me with my patho reviews.

best of luck !! and dont give you, youll do well.

My advice if you are struggling with the application questions on the tests, read the short chapter in Saunders NCLEX book on test taking strategies.

On one sheet of paper write a list of the test taking strategies and every time you do practice questions use this list to determine which test taking strategies would be helpful to the questions you get wrong. Practice questions from Saunders with these test taking strategies until they become second nature for you to think through them with every question. Look at the chapters in Saunders that correlate with material you are studying in class and do the practice questions.

If you feel you're struggling to complete all your reading and pull out the important information then maybe take a look at

"Fundamentals of Nursing Reviews and Rationales"

http://www.amazon.com/Nursing-Fundamentals-Mary-Ann-Hogan/dp/0130304557

or "Fundamentals of Nursing Made Incredibly Easy."

These books and the chapters in Saunders condense the information to some of the more important info to focus on. They have practice questions too.

Hope this helps.

Anything below a 76 at my school makes you have to repeat. If you are repeating, the minimum is an 85.
