I work at Disney World now!!

In high school my marching band got to march at Disney World. We got the whole speech about being in character in the park. And now I've officially gotten it at work (I didn't even hear that Disney bought us out!!)

Please remember that when you are in any public area of our hospital... you are "on stage"....

I don't mind being friendly, but don't call it being "on stage." There comes a point where the customer service just crosses a line. This has crossed the line and gone so far that it can't even see the line anymore.

May not get respect as a professional nurse, but hey, maybe now I can get respected as a professional actor!

It is a shame that people have to be taught this. I have had many jobs and was never disappointed to see people stroll in half an hour late, wearing ripped clothing, talking on their cell phones while doing their job, horse play in the hallways, etc. So, I think instead of offending people by having a program called how to act like a professional, they are watering it down with this Disney crap. Yes, you are always being watched by someone, you have someone's life in your hands, look like an adult, not a child.

However, I think if management had realistic expectations from nurses: gave them time for lunch, time to chart etc, we would not be so offended by them trying to push this on us.
