HELLO I'M SO VERY NEW TO THIS BOARD AND I'M GOING TO EXPLAIN MY SITUATION TO YOU AND HOPEFULLY I WILL GET THE HONEST TRUTH FROM THE PEOPLE HERE I QUIT H/S AND IS ON MY WAY TO GET MY GED AND I AM WANTING TO BECOME A NURSE A RN TO BE EXACT I REALLY DONT EVEN KNOW IF THEY ALLOW PEOPLE WITH GED TO ENROLL FOR NURSING SCHOOL SO I WAS WONDERING IF MAYBE SOMEONE HERE WAS IN THE SAME SITUATION OR HAD BEEN IN THE SITUATION AND IF I DID GET ACCEPTED WHERE DO I GO FROM THERE AND I'M IN CHARLOTTE IF ANYONE ON HERE IS FROM HERE DO YOU NO OF ANY SCHOOLS THAT DO OFFER MAYBE EVENING CLASSES OR ARE ALL THE SCHOOLS FULL TIME ALSO I HAVE ALREADY DECIDED THAT I WILL GO FOR ADN IF I DO GET ACCEPTED THAN DECIDED AFTER THAT ABOUT MY BSN BUT I'M SO DETERMINE TO DO THIS I HAVE A DAUGHTER ALSO SO I KNOW IT WILL BE HARD BUT FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE I HAVE TO HAVE THIS IN MY LIFE I HAD MADE A HORRIBLE MISTAKE BY QUITTING H/S BUT LIKE I SAID I WANT THIS DO YOU THINK I COULD BE A NURSE?:

Yes Nurseing school does allow GED grads i am going through the same thing

I am going to Community College to get my ADN then go to a 4-year to finish with a BSN

First of all - I admire both of you for going back to school and completing the GED. An education is the only way to get ahead nowadays - in my opinion. I wish you both luck and yes - you can do it! Believe in yourself, apply for grants and scholarships and you're on your way.

I think your best bet would be to get in touch with the nursing program at CPCC, Presbyterian, and some of the other schools in the area and ask them directly about their admission requirements and schedules.
