Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Can someone please help me understand? I really don't get it

Go to khanacademy.org very helpful! :)

If you're in nursing you'll need a chemistry course more than likely. If you take an intro or basic class they'll usually spend plenty of time explaining it. If you're in a chem class now and don't understand it, ask your instructor for clarification. You can use links like the PP provided as well.

what dont you understand...

The periods are horizontal...1-7

The groups are vertical...same family...similar properties...

first 2 groups and last 6 are the representative elements.

the main ones

group one is the alkali metals

group 2 are the alkaline earth metals...

7a are halogens

8a Nobel gases quite unreactive and seldom found with other elements

Metaloids along heavy line similar properties of metals and non metals. non metals are right of that. (yellow area)

number of protons is the number on the top...mass is the number on the bottom...subtract those to get # of neutrons

Isn't that what you are in school for? Ask your teacher for help sometime after class...
