You can, however some states require a SSN to take the exam, so it depends on the state.
Thank you ackeem.. did you know someone who tried it?.. well when i called my stateboard and pearson vue in the U.S. They also told me that yes I can.. i just want to confirm it here on our site..
Yes I'm an international graduate, i know people from my school who did. i personally used my Jamaican passport at the test center and not my conditional greencard.
Ok thank you ackeem.. other than my passport is there any requirements on the testing center..? Because i dont want to miss any of the requirements.. thanks a lot for your answers

If you have already been authorized by a state board of nursing you can physically take the exam any location it is offered. Passport is required for all overseas testing centers and an option for US centers. Your ID must match your authorization to test. There is an extra fee to test overseas
Thank you for that justbeachynurse.. yup! I have received my ELIGIBILITY few months ago..and i believe thats what you mean by "authorized by a state board of nursing"?..
Did you also do this scenario?.. thank you

Authorization to test is what I'm referring to.

Hello,
I know its been years but I was wondering if you were able to take the NCLEX exam in the USA while holding a tourist visa? I'm thinking of doing the same but I leave and work in the middle east so their are no test centers for US NCLEX here.
