PASSED!:D :yeah: I am still in shock! I found out 3 days after I took the mother test. I cried tears of happiness and was to choked up to tell anyone. I just want to say thank you to everyone who's been writing about their experience on the test. After I took my test, I went to the internet to find discussion groups for the NCLEX and found allnurses.com. Through everyone's postings I found comfort and support because no else knows what we go through to pass this mother test.

You can't imagine the trauma that test put me through. I think my computer shut off around 160 questions. After the test, I barely made it to my car without crying, thinking I had failed. I prayed and prayed, day after day. I THANK GOD!

I pray for everyone else who is taking the test in the near future. My best advice is to prepare well, do well, rest well and most of all try to relax. Easier said than done, but if freak out (like I did midway) you'll forget things and your nerves will get the best of you. Believe in yourself because inside you know it all!

I PASSED!!! I'm a RN!

I take my test tomorrow. I am scared to death! I have been studying with Saunders and Kaplan. I'm scoring 50-60% on Kaplan and 72-80% on Saunders CD. I hope I am ready. Please keep my in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow. I test at 8 in the morning.

someone asked me how I prepared for the test. I understand everyone has different lifestyles and study techniques. so here's my version:

I did the Kaplan review. definitely, know your meds. I can't reveal which ones but just to let you know I got a lot of pharmacology questions, maybe 20+.

The Saunders comprehensive nclex book is another goodie. I studied about 5-6 hours a day, with lots of breaks of course, and went through 200 questions/day plus 15 meds/day for a month and half.

On the day before your test and on test day, don't answer any more questions because you will burn out on the day of your test. I sat there for 4.5 hours and was burning out.

hope that helps

Believe in yourself! Good luck to you!

I just wanted to say thank you for sharing your story.

I am 2 years away from taking mine (I start the nursing program this fall). I enjoy reading everyones success stories, and also because I want to be totally prepared for what lies ahead. It may seem premature, but I have never wanted anything so bad, and it took me forever to get here.

Thank you all for sharing your stories, and CHEERS :yeah: to becoming nurses!

~Lisa

congratulations!
