So I talked everything over with my famiyl and this is how I would go about becoming an RN....
1.Choose A College
2. Choose Their Nursing Program
3. Graduate
4. NCLEX
?
Now I'm wondering - when I choose their nursing program - when I go there freshman year THAT is what I start with correct? :) Like I'll have pre-res classes like every other normal college kid but the rest of my schedule will mainly be focused around nursing?? :)

Most schools, not all so look around your area, will have you take your pre-reqs prior to applying to the clinical portion of nursing, so your first year or two would be only general classes like everyone else. English, math, etc. because they will use your gpa in those classes to determine if you'll be accepted into a nursing program.
Some schools out there will admit a freshman into the nursing program right out of high school and you'd take nursing classes right out of the gate, but theres still a separate competitive application that would be based on your high school achievement or SATs or something like that. There are limited spots in programs, so you can apply, but schools choose YOU

Essentially, yes. Many universities do not have students declare a major until sometime in the sophomore year - this is common. So for now set about picking a college/university (if you haven't visited any yet you may want to get started ... hint, hint) and include some evaluation of their nursing program in your decision process. Hopefully you have already taken the SAT and/or ACT and have an idea how competitive a candidate for admission you are based on your high school GPA, SAT/ACT scores and activities/experiences.
www.collegeboard.com is a GREAT site with a wealth of information and tools to compare different schools.
Good luck to you! :)
p.s. -- realize that it is possible that you will change your mind entirely after some exposure to college-level courses. Broadening your horizons is most of the point of a college education.

#2 1/2 Go to a info session or meet up with a counselor, they will tell you what prerequisite classes you will need to apply and most likely the Nursing Admission test you'll need to take (for me, its the TEAS)
