I am presently taking a CNA class. I am a sophmore in college and still taking classes. Thought I would get my foot in the door. I'm loving it so far. But my teacher asked for supplies. I need a stethecope and a blood pressure cuff. Where in Houston can i get these supplies. If this is the wrong forum let me know or can you repost. Thanks...:balloons:

Just about any uniform store or even walmart or kmart or such will have just what you need.

You can order them online as well. I got my steth and bp kit from http://www.jascouniform.com and was happy with the service. :)

There are online uniform places out the wazoo; just search for "nurse uniforms scrubs" or something similar.
A lot of uniform sites also sell accessories like stethoscopes and sphygmomanometres.

I have found there are some items that are always great to have. A clip board if one is not provided for you is a great start...and what I did was to have some Vital sign norms copied and taped to it so I could let RN's know if something is not usual or borderline wrong.
A good pen that hangs around your neck on a lanyard is a good thing if you can handle that danging thing with pts.
BIG TIME, a watch with a second hand, or if you can't wear watches (like me) a clip on watch that has some type of enclosure over the glass face...like with me, I have a gold lady bug watch I put on my lanyard or my badge clip that opens up its wings to show the clock face. That way if you hit the watch on the bed..the glass is protected from breaking! I am on number 12 after 7 years.
Just some extras that help Congrats!
