I take the TEAS in two days

Published

Hello nursing community!

I take my TEAS test this Saturday, June 17 and I feel as if I am ready as I can ever be. I've been using the TEAS pocket prep app and today I've downloaded the TEAS mastery app and the teas prep app. Do any of these compare to the actual content on the actual test?

I've also purchased the two practice tests on the ATI website and made an 85 on the first try and a 77 on the second try. Grrrr.

Also, I have had the mometrix book and ATI prep book and started studying by trying to read the mometrix book from front to back but soon realized that didn't work for me- I was just reading and not comprehending. I've found that flashcards really test my ability to retain the information!

I am just so nervous! Does anyone have any advice on what to focus on? How specific is the science section? Should I study the night before? Any suggestions, comments, or advice is appreciated!

Thanks in advance! Hopefully this thread will benefit future TEAS takers like myself :)

Hello! Though I didn't take the TEAS, I did take the HESI A2. I just completed my first semester of nursing school! I would say the best advice I can give you is to just get a great night sleep, eat a balanced breakfast, and think positive thoughts! If you tell yourself you've got this, you will ace it!

Thank you so much @haleyannsn! And congrats on finishing your first semester of nursing school!! That is awesome and truly a feat! I am hoping to be in your position soon :)

For anyone who is interested, although I'm not sure if this is allowed: I am selling my ATI book (from the website), my Mometrix Secrets book (amazon) and the two practice assessments from the ATI website (you are allowed two tries, I only took both assessments once) for $100. The bundle itself (ATI assessments + ATI book) is $150, and the Mometrix Secrets book is $25. You would save $75 with this bundle.

Email me if interested! I live in Los Angeles CA so ideally would like to meet in person :)

I took my TEAS this morning at got a 79. The science section was very heavy in A&P and microbiology. I personally found the reading, math, and science to be very straightforward, but the English got a little tricky. Proper punctuation, spelling, definitions, subject/verb agreements... I found myself overthinking it rather than going with my gut instinct. Make sure you're well rested before your test and that you have a little food in your stomach before you go.

@thewhitechickoj thank you for your advice. Congrats on your score! Did you get your score right away, like right after you took it? And where are you located, if you don't mind me asking?

I took the teas Weds (my second time taking the teas -first time I received a 73.3) and received a 78, which should be good enough for my school for spring nursing. The science section was still the hardest because it was so broad. I really think the practice tests are super similar to the real thing so you should be ok. I actually scored higher on the teas than I did my second practice test. I was able to bring all my sections up from last time I took it, except for the English (though the score I got in English was still decent.) You should be ok if you felt confident enough taking the practice tests. Good luck!

I couldn't look my score up on the computer (they had it disabled), but my school printed it out for me. I attend Lower Columbia College in Longview, WA. I'm hoping to get into their ADN progam this Fall. After I finished my test, I just had to wait a few minutes for the gal in the testing center to bring it up and print it out.

I took the paper version so I don't get my results until Wednesday ;/

Hello! Do you feel like the actual test was similar to the ATI practice assessments and the questions in the ATI TEAS study book? Thank you for you help and good luck I hope you did very well on your test!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Jull0816 - I felt like the actual test was very similar to the practice tests. They were very helpful for me.
