Wish me luck, I start clinical rotations on monday. Just finished my 7 week CNA/CNT course.
My instructor placed me with Vent/Coma patients. Said it was like boot camp and to expect to run around like crazy all day.
What can I expect from a state funded long term care facility? Most of these patients are going to be ones that no one cares about, GSW's, comas, vents, aids etc.
I'm nervous, expecting to get left by the trainer tech probably, and expect to see a bunch of neat things and hope to learn a ton.
Monday 7a-7p
Tues same
Wens same
Thurs 5-9p easy shift.. Then I'm DONE!

I just started @ a facility that has a whole floor dedicated to vent/trach patients. It's hard work. Turning & repositioning is extremely key! You will see a lot of stuff that you will not encounter anywhere else. But if you can cut it there, you can make it anywhere!!
