I am ready to apply for a nursing school :)

ok, i am super excited, and extremely confused. a little background: i have ms in criminology, and totally changing fields. i spoke today with an adviser, and she was really pushing me towards bs degree, which will take 4.5 years, and part of it i might do in another city, which is not cool, since my husband is in here, my house is here, and my ft job is here. second option, i might take some classes here, and transfer to a comcollege wich offers associates rn degree. third option - choose lpn program, in my city, 2 years, no need to go anywhere, also associates.

i am torn. the advisor said that if i wanna do any management stuff later inl ife, it will be better if i have bachelor's, compared to associates. well, i do have ms, although in a different field.

again, i am so torn. sorry my rambling. i have the admission form here, and i don't know which one to choose.

please, send any thoughts!!! thanks!!!

pardon my errors and typos, please. i am just thinking aloud i guess. :)

just a quick note: i am considering montana state university in billings, pre nursing, msu billings college of technology, lpn, and miles city community college, rn program....

Well...just MHO , if youre considering an LPN associates and are going to school for 2 years, you might as well go for the RN associates, it equals more pay, better opportunities. Also, it is very usual for someone working as RN, to also be in school for their BSN, so you wont lost out on the pay while you are furthering your education. And you can keep your advisor happy while making yourself happy in the process.

Check Chamberlain College of Nursing, I think that they are offering an online program. You will have to have a hospital to do clinicals at. Let them know that you already have an advanced degree they might have a bridge program for you.

What's making you change to nursing? I'm asking because at one point I considered criminology...

Next go for your BSN if you can... I say that because being that you have a BS in another field you probably have most of the class requirements (in terms of humanities) in order to obtain a BSN. Just make sure wherever you are going they accept most of your credits from your previous degree... You can also do that by looking at the requirements for the BSN at that specific college.

Good luck!
