So I quit my job at a LTC/rehab facility. Why ? Well for multiple reasons actually. I got written up for something that literally was not my fault. Something should have been done days ago and it wasn't so I pretty much got blamed for it. I take it back...I did make an error (non life threatening) which I admitted but at the end of the day I should not be held accountable for something that should have been done when I was not even in the building. Sooo I got called in to get written up, went home told my mom about it (she's an RN) and she told me to quit. I went back that day with my resignation letter (I was planning on quitting soon anyway). I wasn't mad that I got written up, it was more so how they addressed me. They made it seem like I'm a careless nurse and I have no regard for my patients at all...which I think is crazy because I am honestly one of the most caring and hardworking nurses at the facility. I'm not trying to bash any of the other nurses there and make it seem like I'm better than them because I'm still new and I have a lot to learn, but I put more effort into my work than a lot of them do and I'm ALWAYS cleaning up their mistakes. Ex. Nurses signing out that they admin meds that we don't even have in the building. Usually they're OTC stuff and we'll have it but a doctor will order a dosage which we don't normally use. That's only one of simple mistakes and the list goes on and on. My mom has been telling me to quit for the longest, but part Of me wanted to stay because I felt loyal to them because its hard getting a job as a new grad and they give me a chance. But the overall work conditions are not up to par, at least for my standards. I would rather work in a facility where I don't feel that every time I go to work I'm putting my liscence in jeopardy. So now the search begins ....

I hope things get better for you! It sounds like a terrible place to work though. Eventually there'll be massive problems (signing for meds that aren't available?!) and you will be out of the way when it happens.
Job hunts always stink. But when they ask you why you left, just have a prepared answer and be careful not to badmouth them cuz it'll make it harder to get hired.

Good luck with the job search. You will find many of the problems your were talking about in a lot of LTC places. There are a few great gems, but they are few and far between. In the future try to hold out until you have another job lined up.
