yes-- i have heard this from two different instructors actually.

OH NO! my mom said that test is a B*TCH!!!! Will it be replacing the stupid ERI things??

So it's coming back for Fall '09 applicants (and beyond).. not those that are going to apply for Summer '09? I've worked so hard for my 200 points.. I don't want it to all come down to an entrance exam!

ok, can somone please fill me in on what this "pax" means. Would it be a different method for addmitance to the program?

I am trying right now to decide whether to spend the money on bio 103 for next semester to try and get another A on my app because I cannot seem to get in with 180 points.

AND...if I took a class next semester it would only count for my app for fall 09 because grade would not be on there in time to apply for Summer 09.

I am so over JS...but I cannot afford to go anywhere else!!! already paying too many loans for my BA I already got!!

From what I understand it is being talked about for Fall 09 applicants and concessions MAYBE made for points already earned??

Google PAX exam and you should find the company that created and offers the exam. and that should give you more information about it.

JS used to require it for entrance back in 2000 when I attempted nursing pre req's then, from what I can remember it was done away with because of the nursing shortage, which if I am not mistaken hasn't gotten any better, anyway it was replaced with and the points system.

Maybe somebody will offer us somebetter advice soon... hope I helped in the meantime

This exam was required when I went into nursing school.... here is some information for you all.

The NLN PAX-RN comprises of three main areas: Verbal skills, which consists of both word knowledge and reading comprehension; Mathematics, which includes basic calculations, word problems, and incorporates algebra, geometry, conversions, graphs, and applied mathematics; and Science, which examines general biology, chemistry, physics, and earth science.
