I promise to....

not complain as much about my job.

to be grateful that I have not one, but two jobs.

to be a calmer person and take things one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.

It's so nice to see a positve spin!! Thanks.

Even though I'm not a CNA:), I promise to. . .

get to work a few minutes earlier so I can walk into work calmly instead of running with 60 pounds of gear for an 8 hour shift--

listen to something beautiful on my way to work instead of talk-radio

look my family in the eyes when they need to talk to me :redpinkhe

...include residents in conversations during cares rather than talking to a coworker the whole time.

...not get bent out of shape when I come to work and notice that the previous shift left a resident wet (talking about occasional incidents; not an everyday thing).

...stop eating the "food" from dietary.

...revamp my efforts to talk to my residents during meals, or at least let them know what each bite of food is, rather than joining the group conversation about something that probably should not be talked about at work anyways.

...perform hand hygiene more often.

...refill supplies and trashbags when I use the last one.

...use my gaitbelt when I'm supposed to.

...whine less when I get bad assignments or coworkers call in.

We're only 6 months late; we could have made these our New Years Resolutions. :)

....Perform my job the best way I can

....Avoid as much conflict with residents/co-workers as possible

....Sympathize more with patients in need and in pain

Great thread!

I promise to:

...use any downtime to visit with residents who are lonely

...leave the room whenever possible if coworkers start gossiping

...try to keep learning every day how to do my job better to make my residents' quality of life better and more comfortable
