I have been working as an RN for the past year, and my LVN license expires in June. How exactly should I handle this? Should I write a letter to the BVNPT? I live in CA.

I renewed mine for the first year as an RN. I placed it on inactive status when renewal came up again. I did this through the renewal portal. I’m in NJ though. Check the website as if you were going to renew. There may be info about this. Hope this helps.

Call your BON and they’ll direct you on how to place your LVN license on inactive status. I became an RN in July and my LVN was going to expire in September. I called my BON and they had me write a letter requesting to place my LVN on inactive status. Hope this helps

im sure you can just let it expire. I couldn't think of any reason you should notify the board if you're already a RN
So I drove down to the BVNPT today, someone there told me in person that the only real course of action is to just let my LVN license run delinquent, and that there are no consequences to doing so. After 4 years of delinquency, it will be canceled.
Just felt like posting this update in case anyone else needs an answer to this question, it will save them the time. Thanks all!
