I never had a "lab kit", and disliked taking my entire bag into a questionable environment, so I would generally use a smaller tote to take in ONLY the things I thought I would need for that particular visit. (I don't do a lot of visits these days, but when I do, I use a disposable tote). I would always plan ahead for what I needed to draw and make sure I had enough equipment to do 3 sticks (beyond that, it's time to call someone else!), and 2 of each kind of tube. Never thought of using a tackle box - that would have been kinda cool for car stock.
I use a fair sized clear zipper bag to keep various tubes, bfly's needles, syringes, alc wipes, tourniquet and tape. I also have a smaller clear ziploc bag with cotton balls/2x2's. I like it, since I can see what's there and retrieve it immed. Also nice for restocking, as I can see what is needed. Something as big as a tackle box would be too much like travelling for me.
OK, I went to Dicks Sporting Goods this morning and got the following:
Plano Field Box. It is nice and deep.

Pop the top of this box and you have a 50 tube holder:

Plenty of space to hold extras. This should make due for a while. Sometimes you have to get creative :-)
I've been using this one for the last 3 years and it works great to hold just enough of what I need and I replace items PRN when I am at the office. Holds enough for like 5-6 blood draws. http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=plano+two+sided+tackle+box&hl=en&client=opera&rls=en&channel=suggest&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=5675436350108682960&sa=X&ei=7lzMTf2VNqTs0gGI2I3zBA&ved=0CGAQ8gIwATgo&biw=1362&bih=677#

I am currently using a small fishing box for my blood draw kit. I'm running out of room in it. Can anyone recommend a good box for a blood draw kit? It has to have a covered top, not like the lab trays that you see in the hospital.
