She asked me help her with a case I did I was then sent to lunch at this pont I totaaly forgot about the drug Ater returning from lunch I was brought into the office and basically accussed of attempting to steal the demerol. I was shocked I explained myself gave themthe drug immediantley. Doing things this way, you all will be in big trouble, sooner or later. Yes, you are asking for it. Please, never count alone, nor correct counts unwitnessed. It's nothing but grief you will get if you do. Good luck.

I agree. You are asking for problems you don't need. I once had to write a supporting letter for a nurse who had committed the error of using presigned physician scripts. She had to learn the hard way. Don't let it happen to you.

There is not one facility anywhere that is covered by the Board of Pharmacy in that state that does not require a count be done by two licensed people. Just because it was being done in your unit, it does not mean that it was correct to begin with.

Always two people and this just proved why. No matter correct count or incorrect count.

Highly recommend that you hire an attorney that specializes in this type of issue.

I disagree with the prior comment. Guess what? YOU'RE HUMAN. Did anyone get hurt? NO!!! Were you negligent at the expense of your patient? NO!!! Stick to your guns and prove your innocense if not by pure character than hire an attorney. Good luck to you!!!!!

Do not agree with you. Things are automatically against the nurse as there was not a two person count of narcotics. And this is a requirement. She is the one that the burden of proof will be on, not past character or anything else. Not past work experience either. All is going to focus on the fact that there were not two people involved. That is what makes it bad.

Narcotics are an entire different ball game and have nothing to do with whether or not someone was injured, or negligence in patient care. Completely different circumstance and one where the Board of Pharmacy also can get involved. When a count is off there can be issues that need to be instantly resolved. And when there was not a count by two nurses, more problems come into play. Nothing to do with patient care at all.
