I think I am going crazy.. I've been studying from my Saunder's NCLEX review book and there is sooooooo much to study for... What should I majorly focus on for the NCLEX?? I know that every test is individualized and different for everyone, but I just dont know how to review now.. Because there is so much information to retain in my head. I am taking it this Friday June 8 and have reviewed from the book for about 2 1/2 weeks already.. A lot of the instructors and previous LPN grads told us to take the NCLEX as soon as we finish school because it we wait too long, we might forget a lot of stuff... Any input will help, thank you so much fellow LPNs ..
Did you pass? I hope so. There really isn't any preparation for such a horrid exam. I really think it is the luck of the draw.:angryfire
none of that would have worked for my testi didn't study for it
i figured i would know it or i wouldn't
i took it june 5th
it was all pharmacology
there were about 20 ob/maternity questions
3 math questions
not only that
half of the pharm questions were select all that apply
several meds i had never even heard of!
there were no abc priority questions
no culture/diversity
i guess it is just the luck of the draw as to what you get
it took less than thirty minutes
it shut down after 85 questions
does anyone really think you can study for it?
i don't think so
because there is so much material
and you just can't know it all
i hope what you did worked
and that you passed

hello Blessed03. I'm sorry to hear that u failed the NCELX and even though I have not taken it yet, I'm sure your not alone. Just out of curiousity, why after soo many yrs are u gonna try to re-take the NCLEX? I do have a suggestion. In my LPN program we use several books called ATI. Each book is different and covers different material. One book has Fundementals of Nursing, one book has Mental Health, another has OB, another PEDS, another med-surg, and another Pharmacology. What is good about these books is that if offers an explanation as to why the answer is wrong or why it is correct. The books also come with CD's that cover several skills in that area. I don't really know how much the books cost because my teacher had to order them for the class and we got a discount. so if u wanna prep, use ATI.
I used Saunders-cd. I read the questions in each section and the rational. I took the nclex-pn last friday and I passed. I had 85 questions. It took me almost 2 hrs. And of course I felt like I had failed when I left. But this is my advice....know your organs....heart...kidneys...etc. the diseases of all the organs...I had questions about which meal was appropriate for pancreatitis...know your lab values..Na...etc. I had questions about which patient would you see first...it gave symptoms..etc. I had no math. I also had select all that apply questions. Just remember to not let this test get to you. Relax...and think...you can do it. I did!!
I always said i was going to retake it. Now i work with the school district, and that is what I would like to do with a student one on one, but I need to get my licenses.
