Published

hi i finished school almost 10 years ago . I am foreign student.I though i know material, but when I open Saunders comprehensive review book fo RN., i understand that I know half of that. Should I buy another book to review material and then read Saunders book, or should I try answere Q and read rationales. What you think guys.

Thanks.

Specializes in PeriOp, ICU, PICU, NICU.

I am not a nurse, but have you considered a refresher course?

By the way, welcome to the site and good luck :)

You cannot do a refresher course in the US if you do not have a nursing license. The refresher course is designed for nurses who just haven't worked for a few years as a licensed nurse in the US.

You need to read the Saunders book from cover to cover before you even begin doing any of the questions. It is the best review book out there.

If it has been ten years for you, have you worked in that time as a nurse in your country? Have you received approval from a BON to be able to sit for the NCLEX here?

about refresher course i understand, but assume I will buy Sauders comprehensive review book.it will be enough for me to prepare for Exam if I studied 10 years ago?

yes I was worked as a Nurse in by country, soon I will receive approval to have an NCLEX exam.

The Saunder's book should be enough as far as nursing things. If you need help with the Medical Terminology, then there is a book called Chabner's Language of Medicine that has a workbook built in and is an excellent book to use. I used it at my school with my students when I was first teaching them English, before we did the NCLEX part.

I will send you the other articles that you will need and you will be all set. I am going to be sending out a program study guide later today..........that will help you also, but I suggest that you begin with reading thru that book before beginning with any of the questions, just to refresh yourself. It will make things easier for you.
