Hello, my name is Emma Peach. I am 17 years of age and I have got an interview for my diploma of higher education in adult nursing coming up soon. I have been sent a question for a essay that I have to write and I would really appreciate anyones help.

The question that I have been given is:

"To what extent do the media influence public perception of nurses?"

By media, if you mean the news, I think there isn't much being said about nurses. If you mean TV and movies, I think as a whole nurses on TV are presented as low class, unprofessional boobs (e.g., ER, daytime soaps). However, the movie "Wit" staring Emma Thomson is a great testimonial for nurses.
