Hi Everyone,
I've recently decide to purse nursing as a career. I graduated with a B.S in Bio at a 4 years university in 2013. I started looking into some accelerated nursing programs to see about the requirements. I know that I might have to retake some of the science courses because either they are too old for the program or my grade is below the requirement. I just have a few questions and hopefully you guys can help me out. I've done some research on the forum but still a little confused.
1. Do people normally re-take the pre-req courses at a community college?
2. Are there any post bac program for pre-nursing?
3. Instead of doing a post bac program, can I just spend one or two year at a community college re-taking all of the pre-req courses.
Please help me! Thanks a lot in advance

1. Do people normally re-take the pre-req courses at a community college? It's cheaper so this would be an excellent option.
2. Are there any post bac program for pre-nursing? non that I've ever heard of, you should only need a few courses and could meet with the nursing department to determine those specific courses.
3. Instead of doing a post bac program, can I just spend one or two year at a community college re-taking all of the pre-req courses. Most programs only require a few science pre-reqs and at most should only take a couple of semesters at a part time status to complete.

Hi! Post-bac you don't qualify for federal financial aid, so a lot of people take pre-reqs at a CC, since it is cheaper. It's not the only way though. I'm sure you can take your courses at almost any accredited college or university. Maybe even online? I wanted to give myself the best chance to do well, so I took them in person at my local CC, and am very happy with my choice. I think doing chemistry labs at home would have been terrible. However, since you have a science background (and I didn't) maybe it would work for you!
