Took care of a patient on a 12 hr day shift. Very sweet lady was a joy taking care of her. I come back the next day and ask her if she had a good night. She says "no, not really." I ask her "how come?" She says "I missed my nurse" (meaning me!). That has to be one of the sweetest things a patient has said to me. The little things like that make all the hard work worth it! :loveya:

Indeed. Sometimes I've had family members ask if I was on the next night, and I've always wondered if it's because they liked me or didn't.

That has to be one of the best compliments to receive! It also says a lot about what kind of nurse you are!
Hearing things like this really inspire me to keep going for what I love!

Ditto, so when they do ask and I answer yes I then ask them if that's a good thing or a bad thing. They always say good. So in general I suspect if a family or patient ask if you will be back the next day it's because they like you and your care.
