I miss home health

Published

I have about 15 to 18 years of Home Health experience. I have tried working at an urgent care clinic, accountable care organization, insurance company/managed-care, assisted living, and in a community college lab nursing school lab coordinator, and today work as a care manager in managed care. I still miss Home Health a lot but don’t want to work so many hours documenting at home after doing visits all day. So unfortunate that I cannot do Home Health since Home Health hours do not love me. Maybe a geriatric care manager can be my last job!

Have you considered only a part time, like one day a week position, in addition to your current job, or have you considered extended care home health, again, one or two shifts a week? Extended care home health would give you the feel of working with patients in the home without all the downside (taking charting home) of intermittent visit work. You can also arrange shifts of short duration, four to six hours, in extended care which could help with scheduling in addition to your primary job. Home health agencies are always touting flexibility so this is the time to put that flexibility into play.

I have two choices:

Thank u!
What do think ? about this? I work as a telephonic care mgr at a managed care company. People are super nice, but computer work is WORSE than Oasis! Nice hours, great benefits. Not that rewarding!
Two choices—work in managed care and 4 hrs per week in HH or
—-quit managed care, work at HH (30 hrs per week with FULL benefits) and do dog walking at 20.00 per hr.
—2nd option a little tough financially, but could even do an admit on weekend
—managed care company supposed to improve current software...
—so confused ?‍♂️ why can’t I just be happy. LOL!
