:confused:I am doing a medication sheet for my lab class and it is asking for the IV injection rate, I am a little confused on what this means....

Some meds can be pushed but they need to be pushed slowly. For example, IV Lopressor should be pushed slowly to avoid dropping the HR/BP too fast.

Rate of injection is the same thing as rate of infusion, but usually refers to a medication given by IV push, rather than a pump. It basically means how fast/slow you need to give the medication. In the drug books, you'll find this information under the "Administration" heading. You usually won't get a value like mL/hr, but you'll see mg/min or mcg/min.

Your drug book should have a time frame like 5ml given over 10 minutes example only
