I left private duty nursing a year ago

I was just curious if anything has changed in the past year. Anyone know of any good private duty agencies where the pay is good and includes good medical insurance? The mother of the child I use to take care of told me she would like to have me back and that she would be willing to switch to whatever agency I would be willing to work at.

The good news is, "crummy insurance" is not even legal anymore. One of the great things of ACA is that insurance companies are no longer able to offer cheapo policies which seem like a bargain, but only cover small percentages and still leave the patient w overwhelming bills. People are starting to see that these policies that are getting cancelled have been snake oil all along.

I work 6 nights/wk and am on PRN status. I want to stay this way because 1) I usually take a couple months off in the summer and 2) I have more flexibility to work the holidays I do or don't want to, and 3) they can't force me to work cases I don't want. If I were to go FT they would own me. 4) If/when my hubby succumbs to his RA and must go on disability, we'll be able to pick up the same policy we get through his job through the ACA Marketplace. And yes, it's there, same company, actually would be a couple hundred $ cheaper!
