I know it's not going to happen

I just got my med record fax of the dr. appt that got me a medical discharge from the navy reserves. i faxed it to my recruiter so she can send it to the waiver board. After reading it, I now feel that there is no hope of getting back in. I got a d/c for anxiety & no longer deal w/ it. I know I'm fine & everyone around me knows the same but I know the docs aren't going to see it that way, even if I get another doc eval that says I'm fine. Obviously, I'm still going to have my recruiter submit the paper work. I'm really bummed.

have any of you heard of someone getting a medical waiver despite all odds?

I am working on a medical waiver with the Air Force and my fait should be known in about 30 days. What I have been told after the SG there is no other appeal. But with that said; if I can't go blue I will try green. From what I have been told "you medical folks come in with a lot of medical waivers". Truth or not I don't know maybe it could be that we feel our patient's pains too deep (or in my case getting old and worn out). Anyway don't give up...

I am pessimistic but I will make them do all their "own" work to keep me out. Don't sale yourself short.

Thanks! I'm actually talking to an AF recruiter as a backup plan. I think I may begin talking to Army too. Still, my heart is def set on the navy.Good luck to you too!!!! Keep us posted.

For what it's worth, I spoke to an AF Medical officer recruiter who abandoned me. I tried calling and emailing but perhaps he got shipped out somewhere OR didn't want to tell me that the SG of the AF declined to give a waiver.

Anyway, I got waivers for age and glaucoma and I'm also color blind (R-G) from the Army on short order.

Never give up.
