I find it's helpful to try to have a balanced life outside of school. It sounds opposite of all the talk about nursing school, but it's mandatory for me to not just be a nursing student. I keep a really organized planner, and I plan my study sessions like I would a regular job. I do put in a lot of time, but I work really hard to keep it quality study time. I used to think I was studying (hoours!), but really I was half there.
With one bad exam comes the label, then another makes it worse. It's really important to keep the label you have for yourself positive. Instead of taking a bad grade personally, decide that whatever you're doing isn't working. Completely redesign your style-at least do something differently.
Take practice tests, too. Even ones that aren't necessarily the same as what you're studying, but at least the same subject. I take the ATI test at my school, but I use NCLEX practice questions related to the topic I'm studying to help with the actual test. I'll have to know the stuff eventually for the NCLEX, so why not.
I hope you find a method that works for you! We each are so individual with the amt of time we have to study, other things in life, etc. I suggest taking an honest look at yourself and decide what you need to do differently, and keep that up when you start scoring higher grades.

yes, probably all of us felt the same way at some point during nursing school.
