I just got my new Ultrascope!

and it totally rocks! fits my personality anyways...

i got the light green stick figure nurse head with hot pink tubing... my roommate thought it was a toy...

i cant wait to use it... ive only tested it on myself and my dog...

Hi all, just to add my 2 cents...I LOVE MY ULTRASCOPE!!! I have used Litmann, "cheapos", sprague, etc...and I can hear WAY better with my ultrascope! and as a plus...mine has blue tubing and a horses head in the head whis perfectly suits my personality! I got mine off eBay....$68 shipping and everything....and it was new, still in the box :biggringi ....and no they are not a heavy as the other "good" steths, heavier than the cheapos.

Hi there - I just ordered the maxiscope - I'm not really in need of anything TOO flashy from a design standpoint. Am I to assume (in reading your posts), that the maxiscope is the SAME steth as the Ultra (just without the design patterns/engraving?). Can I get a good solid blood pressure w/ this thing or what? I am so SICK of hauling around my monster Lidman Cardio Steth for quick head to toe assessments... I'll keep it on standby for those important apicals, but honestly... it ways like 3 lbs and is HIDEOUS! I'm SO hoping my new maxiscope will do the job - quick, accurate BP (no machines at my clinic: )! ) and some easy bowel sounds... any thoughts?:uhoh3:

I have the hot pink happy face with hot pink tubing. I think it's ok... no better than my Littman. But my last two Littmans looked like everyone elses, so now I don't have them :o

I like that it is unique and can be spotted easily. I don't find it gives a better listen to the lungs or heart compared to the Littman. When I bought mine they claimed that lungs could be heard through several layers of dressings/clothes.. Not with mine... at least no more so than with a Littman. Most of the doc's and nurses have used it and not one has commented either way.

It is lighter that a Littman and hangs nicely around my neck. I would get another one because of the colors and light weight.

dixie ems (@ dixieems.com) has a version of this steth called the "potbelly" that i purchased approximately 13 years ago and i am still using it on a regular basis. the only thing i have had to replace is the ear tips. i absolutely love the fact that i can hear anything with it. when i bought it the description stated you can hear through eight layers of clothing and also fetal heartbeats.

I understand that the ultrascope is reasonably priced. I swear by my Littman Cardiology III. Costs $$$...but well worth every penny spent. I can hear everything.
