here is some hope for the new nurses!!! once you have experience, you can pack up and go! i just got a new job in a better facility out-of-state and it is all thanks to having experience (oh and my bsn helped because it was preferred).

two years of work experience in nursing has taught me a lot. one huge lesson is what a bad work environment entails. another lesson taught me to be bold enough to ask questions that will curtail my being hired by a horrible facility ever again. for instance, questions regarding cliques and team work are important to me. others about the moral on the floor, turnover rates, and bed assignments are important too. i did not mention pay because i was already bold enough to ask hr about pay prior to my second interview (the pay is better, btw).

and yes, because i was so bold i was surprised i got the job. :D in the past i asked fluffy questions during job interviews and got the bottom of the barrel positions. no more!

-on my way to a level-2 trauma center that has their act together and is growing in the right direction.

Congrats! :)

Sounds like an excellent gig. Way to go!
