Well, I got accepted into the Fall nursing program and I start in 2 weeks. I have NEVER been so nervous in all my life. I hope this is normal. Went to orientation, where they told us that in the first week 38 chapters are assigned for reading and the work load is tremendous. I am a straight A student or I should say thus far, but I am scared as hell that it will be too much.
Is this normal??
I am excited, I just don't want to fail and let everyone down.... Well Good Luck to everyone starting this journey!!

38 chapters? that's a whole lot! I was thinking to check out the books that are required for my first semester in spring 11, so I could buy it first and get a head start. lol

Hey Partrease,
Congratulations. I got accepted into nursing school in Januray. I was excited going into nursing school. It was fun meeting new fellow students and it was completely different from regular undergrad. I am in my first year, second semester and I can;t wait for the semester to start.
All the best!:smiley_aa

Congrats. You should be proud of this accomplishment, but at the same time taking time out to thank God for the blessings that are in store. I got accepted into an accelerated program a few months back and start my classes in a few weeks, I am nervous also. More than anything, I am excited to have the chance to fulfill my dreams of being a nurse. I wish you the best of luck in your program.
God Bless!!

Congratulations!!! It is a lot of work and reading that they throw at you, but just take it one day at a time. Stay on top of your assignments and enjoy all that you learn and you'll do great!!! Good luck :)

Congratulations! Try to be confident; that will help you succeed. :) You can do it. I was by no means a straight A student before nursing school, but I am now, because I don't work and I've learned how to study. You can do it! I would advise you not to read everything. I read strictly my notes, unless I need clarification/explanation from the textbook. I wouldn't retain everything from the textbook and reading it straight through is a bore, so sticking to the basics has worked for me thus far. When I used to read all the assigned chapters, I got far worse grades because it took too long and I couldn't retain it all. Reviewing, reviewing, and reviewing the most important facts is key.
Thanks everyone... Sorry that I didn't get back for so long. I have been so busy, but I made it through the first week. Yay!!! So much to do but I'm so excited. Still very nervous about skills but that will go away with practice.
Thanks again for all the well wishes. I love this site because of all the support.
