This school is $25,000 plus per year and it's "state supported." That means if they dip into your Title IV Federally backed student loan money you will end up paying over $5,000 out of pocket (presumably with private loans) to pay for the balance of the yearly tuition.

I thought "state supported" implied that the state would subsidize some of the cost of tuition. This obviously is not the case anymore as state legislatures are turning their backs on this concept which allows the greedy schools to go to town on their students.

My question is, why is it that some schools can offer nursing programs for a third of the cost of this school and others seem to be exploiting the students?

My feeling is that one of two things is happening here. Either the school is getting state funds to subsidize tuition and pocketing it or the school is not getting these funds and charging ridiculously high tuition knowing they can get away with it under the guise of marketing a "hybrid program" to become an RN to the impatient and desperate.

If any student is willing to pay any price to become an RN and indebt themselves for life to do it, there's something profoundly illogical about about this.

This is the quickest way I know of to assign yourself to the legions of the working poor as you will spend the greater part of the rest of your life servicing this debt.

Consider going the CC route. Taking the prerequisites, one at a time, and pay a fraction of the tuition. See if you even like school.

Too many people do not have the patience to wait to get into their local CC and they live to regret that decision later on

Remember being an RN is a living wage job not a one way ticket to a waterfront mansion in Palm Beach.

The school fees for one year is $4,569 ($1,523 per term). Cost of books and supplies is $2,325. Total cost will be $6,894, which I am paying out of pocket. I don't know where you got your info from but its so wrong.You should go back and check their website again. There is no $25,000 plus fees for any program in that college.
