I am a burnt out, overworked, underpaid, teacher who has zero job security year after year. I am 28 years old. Is nursing something to consider? Could you tell me more about the pros and cons of what nursing is really like and if you would recommend I enter the field at this time? I live in Massachusetts.

What homework have you done about nursing? Do you know anything at all about what the work is like?
Here's a thread that might help:

Changing careers from educator to nurse may be jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire. Compassion fatigue and/or burn out are occupational hazards for people who work in the helping fields; nurses, paramedics, police officers, social workers, teachers are all at risk.

Why not check with a vocational counselor?
