I have sooo much pressure on me this fall semester.
I made a huge mistake this year. When I chose the college I will be starting at in August I never in my wildest dreams ever thought that I could've confuse the RN-BSN mentra. I enrolled at the school I'm at now and when I went to orientation yesterday they told me that there was no nursing program for pre-licensure and that it was only for the people who have their RN license...
But when I filled out the application in April and marked "nursing" as intended major (then later on spoke to the admission representative about wanting to go into nursing as a freshman) no one ever told me that they didn't offer nursing to undergraduate freshman.
And now I am just soo angry, that when I spoke to these people and that I clearly kept asking questions on how to get into the nursing program that they never told me it wasn't offer at the school for freshman. No, they told me that I have a shot to get into the program! But what they really ment was that "I have a shot of getting my RN" and it wasn't until orientation yesterday that I put 2 and 2 together.
Ughh, I even declined my other school: Northeastern
Illinois University where I could have done nursing there! What's worst is that I met other classmates at my orientation who all thought that nursing was offered at the school as well.
I am more mad at myself than the school because I am responsible for my own future, and I should have researched the school first before I jumped head first into it. But now I just don't know what to do anymore.
Not to mention the school used to offer nursing as a pre-licensure bsn program but I don't know when they could have ever canceled it.

The college process is very daunting, but colleges are also very clear about what they offer as majors and what they don't. On their website, on the millions of mailings you get, and on your acceptance letter.
Go to school in August, get stellar grades, and try to transfer to a school that offers a true nursing program ASAP. Good luck.
