I was FIRED today!

I had my follow-up meeting this morning and I was fired. They wouldn't even recomennd me to another unit. I am banned from working in the hospital for two yrs. I honestly do not know what I did.

They didn't train me. Look at the post titled " I am an RN, but have no training! HELP!!" When I told them that, they said the RNs were afraid to let me take a team, that I had no confidence, and that I had to ask how to assess a pt for subdural hematoma.

I feel like such a failure. they told me that I could work in a nursing home, or a drs office but that there was no way I could work in the hospital. Christmas is coming, and I have no job.

Let this be a warning to you, if the position doesn't feel right and if they refuse to train you, GET THE HELL OUT!! I passed my boards on Oct. 3 and one week later I am unemployed. The nearest hospitals now are over an hour away.

Never forget that you are of worth.. You can list them on a resume as they can only give start stop dates. Be HONEST on you next job and state that you left on very bad terms and would prefer to keep that confidential. Then give them other referances. Sounds like the facility was poor at education and that's a place you don't want to be!!!!!!! If you feel they are and issue notify JACHO or the AHA essentially they are obligated to give you the tools you need to perform your job by the federal government!!!(OSHA) Don't give it up as I believe you have alot to share and give....you recognized there was a problem that shows you have instinct and common sense!!!
