The shootings in San Bernardino yesterday - the mental illness at their base, the waste of the 8 year old's life and the critical wounding of his classmate - just too much. Overwhelming.

And each such event that I hear about hurts more.

The anguish of the parents who had to wait four hours to be reunited with their surviving children, the bravery of the police who had to face this shooting head-on, the shock and guilt that the person who allowed the murderer to enter the estranged wife's classroom - I can't stop thinking about it all and wondering if the injured classmate will survive and what effects this whole thing will have on the surviving children.

Thanks to the nurses who were involved in this situation. I know you did your absolute best to care for everyone who needed care.
