I feel like getting a new job is hopeless

Published

Hi there everyone,

I've had multiple problems with my current work place. Back stabbing generally horrible behaviour towards me from other nurses. So at the moment I'm on sick leave due to an orthopaedic issue for six weeks. However I have been applying for new positions but no luck. I have a good professional background, post graduate qualifications, senior nurse etc. But my charge nurse had an issue about my sick leave before my op was done. She stated that any future jobs I apply for she will have to inform about my huge sick leave. I basically had twenty days in a year. I'm starting to think that I won't get a break and will have to go back to my current job. Also we have to use the charge nurse as a reference. I've thought about going on bureau pool to get away from the ward. Also before I went on sick leave the charge nurse told me she had heard whispers about my patient allocation wasn't fair. This was incorrect. I don't want to go back because of this also. I'm feeling like I'm stuck and will have to stay there. On top of that I've lost my confidence in being incharge allocating correctly when I'm shift coordinator because of what the charge nurse said.
