I FAILED the TEAS, NEED HELP with Studying!!!!!

Published

So, I took the TEAS twice back to back (didnt have much time to study). How can I study for the TEAS test? I got the study guide but sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I score low on the Reading and Science sections (score higher on Science than Reading). Any advice??? especially for Reading?

Thanks

I failed twice myself, if you think you got it study with someone. If that's not in option go get help and study what they say you keep missing compare your 1 and 2 score and master the pieces. Don't rush taking the test mind your self you are someone and can be a nurse someday and I will be successful.

I just took my TEAS last week and passed. For the reading what I did is not go beyond what I read in the text. What I mean is that when you read each passage don't assume anything that is not in the text. Also read all the questions before reading the passage that way you can mark up what you read as you go. Go through all four answers and eliminate the obviously wrong answers. Make sure that the answer you choose is clearly stated in the passage. For the map questions look at the legend carefully and fully understand what the question is asking you. For questions regarding finding information, make sure you know what information is found where in a book (index, glossary, appendix). For questions regarding which heading does not belong read all four answers carefully and try to determine what is the link between the headings. Above all study. Learn to think like a standardized test. Wish you the best.

Every section hands down requires 4-6 hours over a period of 2 weeks if you want to pass. So if you need extra coverage and really want a good grade, go for 6-8 hrs per day for 3 weeks and take the practice tests about 1 week prior to taking the test. 24-48 hours before taking the test you should be relaxing; your brain needs time to recover so when you take the exam, your anxiety is lower and you can think clearly and are less likely to forget those 'little details' that most people who cram will forget on test day.

Hey I'm taking mine on Friday. I need to ask u some few questions, can u email at [email protected]

I scored SUPER high on my SAT and ACT verbal portions way back in 96... when I took the TEAS, language was a 86 and reading a 74 (needed a 76 for my program). Went over just that portion and still only got a 78, but hey... I passed. Graduate next month. ATI is kind of a ball buster when taking tests. All the answers may be right, but they want the best answer. IMHO, what I think is the the best and what they do never really match up. Just focus on your weaknesses.

Thank You so much! =)

I feel a little better now and I'm just preparing myself to take it again and transfer school !!

Try khanacademy.org to brush up on your math and science. They have great videos on how to do certain math equations and science topics, such as mitosis/meiosis, cell parts, and chemistry (periodic table, gas laws, balancing equations, states of matter, etc...). I've been studying and am scheduled to take it on 3/23. Good luck!
