i would email your instructor (nicely) to just asked why you failed. maybe they can give you some helpful insight as to what went wrong and can better prepare you for the next time around. that being said, don't give up! you learn by making mistakes..don't beat yourself up over it. when you look back it will just be a small bump (among many i am sure) in the road to R.N :)
So I take it you failed clinical? I think that's pretty strict..however, falls are a big deal on a unit, regardless of the outcome. The doctor is called, a team comes to assess, an incident report is filed, and it looks bad on the primary nurse, the unit, and hospital. It's roughly comparable to a medication error.
I think it's that your clinical instructor did not warn you about failing. I had a similar incident, and my instructor gave me additional papers and assignments to complete, and told me I had to rock the rest of the rotation or I would fail. I passed.
Best of luck. It sucks, but you will just have to graduate a little later than you initially thought. You can, and will still be a nurse!!

im so disappointed in myself. i just finished up my second semester of my nursing program and i just found out i failed med surg. im so confused because ive always done so well in the class. the only time my teacher yelled at me was when i was pushing my patient in a wheelchair and i accidentally pushed them into another patient in a wheelchair and they fell over. i know this was bad and i felt awful. but is it really enough to fail me?
