*I dont know anymore*

I find it very frustrating that I have been applying to jobs, over 100 online applications, and probably about 7 walk in applications and I still havent gotten a job or an interview- 6 of those places that I walked into were not hiring, but I put in an application anyways. The other one I walked into, did call me right away after dropping the application off to set an interview up for the next day. I thought the interview went well, it was approx an hour and a half long, I got a tour of the place and had interveiwed with 3 different people, one was the head, then two other nurses each from a different floor at the doctors office- the two nurses said they thought I would be a great fit and just had to talk to the head person to"convince them".The head person said well I think you would be great, I just have to check your referces out adn you will be hearing from me shortly, are your references available today?. I dropped a handwritten card off with in the next couple days after my interveiw. I had called the head person on Tuesday( which was a week after my interveiw, and 5 days after the thankyou) to see what the status of my application was and how it was coming along, she said they were still reveiwing all of the information they recieved and would get back to me.Its been about 10 days since my interveiw- Now stupid me didnt ask what the expected date is because i didnt want to push my luck and strike her the wrong way- so i said thank you have a nice day and hung up. The day I had the interveiw I had called and let all of my reference know that someone may be calling- and called them again on tuesday to see if she had called-well guess what ,that place still hasnt called them for my references. a reference had told me that since I had called to see what the status was and she didnt say it was filled, that I still have a shot, but I am beginning to lose all hope, I dont know anymore. I really want this job, its the enviroment i want to be in- its just a great place and I think I would gain so much by working there- AND I havent heard back from any other places, do what do you think?Is there any hope or should I just move on and keep searching(obviously I am doing that in the mean time)- and totally forget about this place. Any help would greatly appreciated!

Well, it was a great start. if 3 people interviewed you that means they like you. Maybe as most of them do , they are still interviwing other people as well. As for you, keep calling them, call them often,always saying how much you would like to work over there and it will be a great honor to work for them. Be persistent!!!!!! Don't give up, until they tell you otherwise. Infact, you need to go over there and ask in person.!! Thats what I will do!!

If the potential workplace was truly interested in snapping you up, they probably would have checked your references by now. Some hiring managers are conflict-avoidant people who would never dream of telling an applicant in a straightforward manner, "We've filled the position with someone else."

I personally would move on with your job hunt. Continue applying to every facility in your area. If you are willing to commute, expand your radius to 50-100 miles from your home. Place follow-up telephone calls to places where you've already sent resumes. Send thank-you cards to places where you've sent resumes to thank them for reviewing your resume. Add a powerful cover letter. If possible, move to an area where LPN/LVN jobs are abundant. Do whatever it takes, be the best that you can be, and never give up hope.
