I have come to a decision

I am just gonna use Kaplan to study for nclex. O have the online thing till Sepiember 18. I am doing the online content review and question review. As well as the Q-bank and question trainer.

I also have there book I bought from Barnes and Noble that is seperate and I will do that after my online subscription expires and until my Nclex-RN on September 27.

Have any of you used just Kaplan and passed Nclex-RN. I had a 70% on their Diagnostic and 68% on there Readiness test back at the end of June, so I think my content knowledge is alright.

I took kaplan and unfortunately didnt pass on my 2nd attempt.Diagnostic was 58 and readiness was 66. My teacher said that she felt I was ready(no blame being placed). i am using suzanne's -saunder's plan now. wish me luck! and same to you too!

Thanks. Did you use their website as well? Or just thier class. Anybody else have any other advise? Kaplan said that this is the onlt thing we need to pass Nclex. We don't need a whole lota books.

I would like to do Saunders, but i just don't have the time left. Less then a month now.:uhoh21:

I found Kaplan to be mostly a confidence booster. I did the trainer, and scored over 70% in all of them but one. I passed with 75 (but I don't remember anything from NCLEX related to what I had in of Kaplan questions)

Bump

I guess what my real question is, is if I will (should) be alright just using Kaplan to study for the Nclex-RN. I just don't want to take my last month studing the wrong way.

study with what you feel comfortable with. Don't confuse yourself by studying too much and with too many different books

Good luck

Ok, thank you.

Just FYI everyone: The last Saunders (3rd ed) was published in 2005 when they had just started added alternate format items. The new Saunders (4th ed) is due out in October.

I'm holding out until then, but I don't have to worry about the NCLEX prep until next May.

Only 1 more semester after this one!!!!

I studied anything I could lay my hands on and did 200-300 questions a day. I would get up early before work and then do more when I got home.

I needed to feel comfortable with the question lay out etc

I am so glad I put forth the effort because it was worth it with the passing on my first go with the NCLEX.

Now am studying for my Hospice Certification.. ughhhhh LOL Don't ya just love to study? ;)

Yes I am, but I got a long way to go. I am going to go back for my BSn, hopefully if I pass my Nclex-RN. And would like to minor in Biochemistry. I then want to go on to be a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist someday. So I got a lot of studying to do :selfbonk:
