Hey there! I recently moved to NYC, I had my Nursing assistant certificate in New Hampshire My home state and am Just waiting on my Licence number for New York state. I am currently looking for a job and I noticed a lot of places would like a CNA to have their HHA certificate as well. I was wondering how I would go about that, I looked up some classes and A lot of them are for 3 or more weeks, I am already A CNA with some experience and it would be pretty useless for me take that long amount of time to learn these skills over again. so I was wonder if there is any classes that are a shorter period of time, I also eventually would like to Obtain my CPR, Phlebotomy, and EKG certificates. Thanks!

In my experience a CNA is one step beyond a HHA...so it's odd for me to hear that a place would want a CNA to have a HHA cert. as well.
Even so, I would expect that if that was the case that a home health care agency would provide that....but again, that would be senseless if you are already a CNA. Maybe you can work in home health while you await you certificate to transfer to NY???

I agree with missing you. I work for hh and you could be an aide without your cna but if you did have it you were considered higher up and even got a little higher wage
