I bombed my Teas!!! :/

Hello Everyone,

So i took my Teas test today & i bombed it :o !!! I had actually felt pretty confident about it but i guess not! Which really does suck! aaahhhhh :mad: but i am not losing faith! i am going to retake it in a couple of weeks! I am going to study harder because I will make my dreams come true of becoming a nurse! :nurse: I was using the Mcgraw-Hill book which i actually thought was really good.. I loved the way it explained everything to me, but obviously it wasn't enough. So although at first i didn't want to i am considering investing money into the ATI study guide. How good did the study guide help you on your test? Also where can I get some Teas study guide flashcards, I am really interested in purchasing those also! I am staying positive and studying harder! :D

I'm glad you have a positive outlook, that is needed especially for the TEAS V. I'm sure you will do great on your next go round. Just use the information they gave you of what you missed and even try going on brightstorm.com to go over some videos it will help.

Thanks @ nyanbensmommy1, i have to stay positive if not i know it'll get to my head, i know it's difficult to get into nursing school but it certainly isn't impossible! Thanks for the info, i'm gonna go on & check out some videos!

I used the ATI study guide and I took the hit and paid the $$$ to take the practice tests from the ATI website. You get 2 versions for each test you purchase and you can purchase 2 so all together you get 4 practice tests. I found these to be very helpful!!!

Thanks HopefulKate! That is my next step! How long did you study for before the test? I did horrible on the science, will they b helpful?

What I did (I know this isn't possible for everyone) is I scheduled my teas for the weekend after my quarter of school started. I was taking micro and human AP 2 so I got a biology and chemistry review right in class. I studied the week before school a lot on my break, and then also in my free time the week before. I did mid 70s on the practice test online, but got an 84.7 on the real thing. I really liked the ATI study materials!

There are free online TEAS practice test you can take. Just google it. I did that and didn't buy any books and did pretty well on the TEAS test.

I agree with nursegirl.. there's really no need to pay a ton of money for practice tests and books, because there are many free practice tests online. I used them and scored a 92.3%... I also agree with taking it during the time you are taking classes, because your mind is sharpest and clearest when it is being exercised regularly.

Study the parts that are indicated on your TEAS V review form... that's an invaluable source for where your weak points are which wasn't offered on the TEAS IV.

Relax, get a good night's rest the night before, a healthy breakfast, and rock that test! The second time, you have a better idea of what to expect, so I have a feeling you will do better the next time!

I had to take my Teas 3 times and every time I retook it I improved my score. I used the ATI Teas V book....u definitely need that!!!

Also I ran out of time the 1st & 2nd time I took the test but the 3rd time i finished everything and got my highest score. Just make sure you go thru the whole ATI study guide book and then do the practice tests online....definitely worth the money!

I also think practice makes perfect!! Good luck you can do it!!
