I140 approval...

For all of you waiting for I140 processing- after one year, one month and eight days I finally have approval from the TEXAS service center. Yes it does happen eventually! Good luck to those of you still waiting!

I signed up for the email updates, they emailed me when my case had been approved.

My visa fee bill from NVC was generated on Dec 6th, have no idea whether this has been paid or not, as my "attorney" is not big on replying to my correspondence. He has however forwarded to me my DS230 and OF 169, which I am in the process of returning to him. He has asked me to contact him regarding further instructions for my family who will be processing with me- I have done so 4 times now and he won't reply. Do these people not realise this is stressful enough without them trying to play God with our lives- mind you with all the other muck ups he has made with my case in the past 18 months, what else can I expect. Sorry to rant and rave, I feel so close, but yet so far, from getting my Green Card- some days I just feel like chucking the whole thing away.......

Here's hoping 2005 will be a better year for all..

:balloons: Best New Year wishes to all of you, too!

Thank's for your helpful replies, suzanne4 and RNkiwi.

Given your problems, I wonder what's still ahead for me. I can really relate to your frustration, RNkiwi. It feels like being on an emotional rollercoaster at times. I guess, when we look back in a few years though, we will be able to smile and say, it was all worth it.

Actually, you don't seem to be very far away from receiving your greencard. The process at the NVC is up and running, that's good news!

Have just reread what I previously wrote, I don't mean to come across as being ungrateful and self centered, I know there are people who are a lot worse off than me, what with my husband being away over Christmas and New Year and then the terrible disaster in the Indian Ocean its been a fairly emotional time in the last 10 days- so forgive me if I come across the wrong way.

Happy New Year to all, and to all those who lost somebody in the tsunami, my deepest sympathy..

The latest processing dates from USCIS Texas show a very significant progress (they jumped from January to April 2004 within just a few weeks)!

Despite all the promises made by the hospital's attorney, it now appears that he has not paid the Visa Fee Bill on my behalf as promised ( Dec 6th, 2004).

He hasn't replied to any of my correspondence nor to any from my agency.

I called the NVC and spoke to a "real" person, who informed me as of Jan 25, nothing is in the system regarding the bill having been paid. Now the attorney is conveniently out of the country. :angryfire

What would everyone else do in this situation? I am so close to cancelling this whole thing, I feel as though I am banging my head against a brick wall here, seem to take 2 steps forward and then instantly get knocked back 1.5.

In absolute desperation.......

Wendy

So sorry to hear that, Wendy. :o

What is your hospitals reaction on this issue?

Just waiting for the agency to get hold of him this week,I probably wouldn't be too polite if I had to speak to him!! Hopefully they will speak to the hospital and get this sorted out promptly if he remains unavailable :uhoh21:

He has picked the wrong person here if he thinks he can walk all over me!!!

I empathise with you as I am going through the same thing...USCIS wanted further evidence from me so sent "original" papers to my Lawyer and then she recieved them 2 weeks ago - I only found out by accident when contacting her by phone in the USA that she still had them in her office - I was bouncing..like you sometimes feel like giving it all up but I am 2 1/2 yrs down the line and dont want to chuck all that effort in just for one person...so here is hoping that I get approval soon (like tomorrow will do :chuckle ) and hope you get sorted too :)

Hi Sue, I had an RFE as well (apparently every nurse is getting them now, or so Shusterman said!), surprise, surprise, my attorney sat on that one for 6 weeks as well, only managed to send it off when I reminded him. If I hadn't been in New Zealand on vacation, I would have been on his case a bit sooner!

He also misplaced my papers for 4 months prior to even filing them with Texas- they were only filed then because I asked for my receipt number. The agency is useless at following up things.

You are right, 2+ years is too much effort to throw away, I am looking forward to moving, just have to remember to look past this hiccup ( again!)

Wendy

Let us know how you get on Wendy....

As regards to everyone else a lesson here that a few of us have learnt is :

Dont trust others to do the job for you in the timely manner you want it achieving - keep on their case as much as possible to make sure that what you want is what you are getting...

Let's face it Lawyers & CGFNS etc etc deal with the same problems day in and day out - we just deal with it once and personally once is enough...lol :rotfl:
