Hypokalemia And Abcess Help!!!

Pt presented with a large abcess on neck and hypokalemia. Can anyone think of how these two can be related??? I have searched online and found NIL. HELP!

is there some reason you believe they are related? I can't think of anything.

Was the pt being treated for either problem? Or were both problems new on pt presentation?

Certain drugs can lower potassium levels, such as diuretics, penicillin G, insulin. Does this person have any other health conditions? If diabletic that may be your connection etc... I think we need more information in order to help.
